“Those who sing pray twice.”
-St. Augustine
The Music Ministry at St. Pius X seeks to encourage full, active and conscious participation in liturgy using music from a variety of styles for all ages. The participation of the assembly enhances and uplifts our prayer at Mass.
St. Pius X Adult Choir
The St. Pius X Adult Choir sings each Sunday – September through May – primarily at the 9:30am Mass. Additionally, the choir sings for all major parish celebrations including Christmas, the Easter Triduum, Confirmation, and first Communion. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:30pm-9:00pm in the church. New members are always welcome!
St. Pius X Children's Choir
The Children's Choir typically sings once a month for the 11:30am Mass. Rehearsals take place in the church immediately following the 9:30am Mass (approximately 10:20am). A common question for potential new members is: “My child is interested, but CCD takes place at the same time. Can they still participate?” The answer is – YES! Participants in the Children’s Choir are escorted to their classrooms after rehearsal and are typically only a few minutes late.
Musical Parishioners
Parishioners of all ages who play a musical instrument are always encouraged to participate in Mass by sharing their talents with us. In the past, we’ve had members who have played the piano, flute, clarinet, and even the alto recorder! On Christmas Eve of 2025, the Choir premiered an original composition written by one of our own members. Those who may be interested are encouraged to speak to Phillip Lamb, Director of Music.
The Pipe Organ at St. Pius X
Our Parish pipe organ was built by the Peragallo Organ Company of Paterson, New Jersey in 2020. The instrument is what’s known as a hybrid. Meaning, the core, or principal chorus is comprised of actual pipes, whereas the rest of the tonal palette is filled out with digital voices. The result is a comprehensive and versatile instrument capable of leading the musical aspects of the liturgy as well as performing the breadth of classical organ repertoire.
