Based on the three pillars of ministry, St. Pius X offers a wide range of opportunities on a spiritual and social level, as well as opportunities to serve.
YOUTH GROUP MEETINGS
When: Two to three times a month, dates vary
Where: Youth Room in the Ministry House
Who: Grades 7-12 (Separate meetings for middle and high school)
These meetings are welcome to all 7th-12th grade students to have a chance to connect with their peers and grow in their faith. At these meetings, members of our youth ministry gather to discuss topics which are relevant in their lives and faith. Through various activities and discussions, these meetings are the perfect place to begin, or strengthen, their relationship with Jesus alongside friends.
GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT RETREAT
When: Spring
Where: Youth Room in the Ministry House
Who: 8th Graders
This introductory retreat experience offers young people an opportunity to enhance their journey towards the Sacrament of Confirmation. Students will have the opportunity to connect with peers and learn about the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit and where they can find them in their own lives.
APPALACHIA HELP WEEKS PROGRAM
When: Summer
Where: Rowlesburg, West Virginia
Who: Students ages 16+ and their parents
The Appalachia Help Weeks Program is a week-long service opportunity where volunteers support the community of Preston County, WV with various home repair projects while seeing first hand how faith and service intertwine. The St. Pius X volunteers work alongside parishioners from St. Patrick Parish in Chatham and St. Vincent Martyr in Madison to support this community.
